Beru is a bit of a quite girl that clings to her brother, Yuma. When he's not around she's shyer and can seem depressed, but she’s only worried for him. Beru has a habit of calling Yuma her "Nii-sama" behind his back and "Nii-san" to his face. The only person that knows her secret is Kotori (Tori). Beru looks up to her brother because she knows that there's something super special about him and she just hopes he's always there for her. 

She loves light shades of blue and hates black. "I just can't understand why anyone would wear such a depressing color." She's a very cheerful and fun girl, but become sad too easily. She runs and owns her own bakery, but hates being called a baker. 

When she was little and got her first pack of Duel Monsters cards, there was one card that stood out from the others. It was "Madolche Puddingcess” and she decided that she would have a Madolche deck.

When they first met Astral, Beru didn't want anything to do with Astral and insulted him continuously (Reminding him that he couldn't touch anything or remember anything; even saying that his mission wasn't important and that it was stupid). After watching a few Number duels, Beru saw the power they (the Numbers) held and stopped insulting Astral. It took days for her to apologize for her ignorance towards Astral and the dangers of the Numbers saying that she was scared of something she didn't know. Later, she explained to Astral that she was really scared that "Nii-sama” would be taken away for her. Astral questioned why she didn't tell him this earlier, but she couldn't answer.

Since then, Beru has been trying to be more dependent, in fear that Yuma will be taken away. One thing she can’t get over is her fear of lightning.

When she was little, Beru was hospitalized a lot. She was declared clinically dead twice, in both cases she came back to life no less than a minute later. Yuma became protective of her, believing she won't survive her next death. She's never told anyone that her fear of lightning is really her fear of death. She heard lightning when she died.
